Oxonmoot 2020: a complement to my talk about the BnF Tolkien exhibition

This week-end, from Friday 18^th to Sunday 20^th September 2020, the Tolkien Society is hosting their first online Oxonmoot. Much like the in-person version, it is a whirlwind of talks, workshops and occasions to engage in very deep or very light conversations with persons you’ve just met.

I gave a paper on Saturday morning about the 2019-20 BnF exhibition “Tolkien: Voyage en Terre du Milieu”. Many thanks to Tobias M. Eckrich, from the Deutsche Tolkien Gesellschaft (German Tolkien Society), and Sarah Ponchin, whose photos made attendees feel like they were walking the 1000 square feet of exhibition space without leaving the room they were in.

Oxonmoot 2020 : un complément à ma présentation de l’exposition Tolkien à la BnF

Ce week-end, entre vendredi 18 et dimanche 20 septembre 2020, la Tolkien Society organise son premier Oxonmoot en ligne. Comme sa version en personne, c’est un tourbillon de conférences, d’ateliers et d’occasions de se lancer dans des conversations très profondes ou très légères avec des personnes que l’on vient de rencontrer.

J’ai moi-même donné une conférence le samedi matin, sur l’exposition qui s’est tenue à la BnF entre 2019 et 2020 : « Tolkien : Voyage en Terre du Milieu ». Un grand merci à Tobias M. Eckrich, de la Deutsche Tolkien Gesellschaft (la version allemande de la Tolkien Society), et Sarah Ponchin, dont les photos ont permis au public d’avoir l’impression de parcourir les 1000 m² de l’exposition sans quitter la pièce où chacun se trouvait.
